iTPA Member Spotlight: Christopher Lewit, TPT, CTPS
Christopher Lewit, TPT, CTPS Chris Lewit is a top American tennis coach, author, and educator. He has coached several #1 juniors in the US and hundreds of nationally ranked juniors. Chris played #1 for Cornell University and competed on the ITF Pro Circuit. He has authored three tennis books including the best-seller The Secrets of Spanish Tennis, now in its second edition, by New Chapter Press, and the forthcoming technique and biomechanics book, Winning Pretty. Chris has been published and featured in dozens of magazines and broadcast networks including NPR, BBC, New York Tennis Magazine, The People’s Daily (China), and the ITF Sport Science Review. Chris is an expert in the Spanish method of training, having spent the last 20 years studying with many of the legends of Spanish coaching including, Lluis Bruguera, Pato Alvarez, Toni Nadal, Jose Higueras, and Emilio Sánchez, and many others. He also specializes in young player technical development and biomechanical analysis. Chris Lewit has been a presenter at numerous world and national conferences including the USPTA, PTR International Symposium, and SWNineteen. Chris is currently going back to school for a science degree in kinesiology and headed for graduate school in health and human performance with a focus on biomechanics. He uses his iTPA training on the tennis court coaching his students and also as an expert athletic trainer and for scientific assessments of his athletes. |
