Karen has been a certified personal trainer since 2004 (NASM). She holds a Masters Degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion and also certifications in the Functional Movement Screen (FMS), Corrective Exercise (CES) and Performance Enhancement (PES). She received her CTPS in June 2015.
Karen owns ChiroFitness, Inc. in Oakland, CA. She works with many athletes at all levels (including Division I and II collegiate, junior and senior and weekend warriors) but really enjoys working with Tennis players who share her passion for the sport. Specializing in pre and post rehab exercise and conditioning, she uses varied facets of training (flexibility, strength training, core and balance training, Tabata Interval Training) to strengthen kinetic chain weaknesses and improve overall fitness. Karen works with her athletes to help them recognize that pain free activity can increase their quality of life and extend their period of participation on the court.
Karen enjoys a very active lifestyle and is an avid tennis player. She competes through the USTA leagues and is always looking to improve her game. In addition, Karen holds a 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
